Enemies with benefits 1 ~

The library was silent, except for the faint tapping of your pen on your notebook. You were sitting in the back corner, trying to focus on your notes, but the feeling of his presence across the room kept gnawing at you.

Jungkook.

Your rival. The one person who could make your blood boil and your heart race in a single glance. You didn’t even know why you disliked him so much—okay, maybe you did. He was annoyingly good at everything. Whether it was sports, academics, or making people laugh, he did it effortlessly, and it pissed you off. But he was also undeniably attractive. Every time he passed by, your body would react before your mind had a chance to catch up.

You tried to ignore him, but you couldn’t. It was like the universe had decided you needed to be tied to him, bound by some invisible force that neither of you could escape. You’d been stuck in this rivalry for as long as you could remember. But today? Today was different.

It started like any other day—a project presentation in the library, a competition to see who could come up with the best ideas. You always went head-to-head, trying to one-up each other, trying to show the other who was truly the best. But today, there was something in his eyes that you couldn’t quite place. It was like he was daring you to take the bait.

You stared at him from across the room, watching as his fingers tapped rhythmically on the edge of the table. He was leaning back in his chair, his gaze focused on his phone screen, but you could feel the tension crackling in the air between you two. Your body was suddenly tense, like you were waiting for something to happen.

And then it did.

A sharp, cutting remark. The kind of comment he always made, designed to push your buttons. It didn’t matter what he said; it never did. You could feel the heat rising in your chest, your frustration bubbling up. You stood up abruptly, your chair scraping against the floor.

“That’s it, Jungkook,” you said, your voice sharp. “You’ve crossed the line.”

He raised an eyebrow, a cocky smirk playing on his lips. “Oh? Am I getting under your skin, Y/N?”

The challenge in his voice made your blood run hotter, and before you could think better of it, you stalked over to him, your hand gripping the back of his chair. “You think you’re so much better than me,” you said, your tone low and dangerous. “I’m sick of it.”

The library was almost deserted now, and there was an undeniable tension between you, thick and suffocating. His smirk faltered for a second, just enough for you to notice.

“Yeah?” he said softly. “Prove it.”

And that was all it took.

In a split second, you were leaning over him, your lips crashing against his in a kiss that was more fire than anything else. His hand reached up to grab your hair, pulling you closer as the kiss deepened. You could feel his heartbeat beneath your palm, the rapid thumping matching the adrenaline coursing through your veins. The world outside the library, the rivalry, all of it faded away as your focus narrowed on him and the growing heat between you.

When you pulled away, your breath came in short, sharp gasps, and his lips were swollen, dark with desire. But the look in his eyes was something else entirely. There was no smugness, no cockiness. Only raw, unfiltered need.

“What the hell was that?” you breathed, your hand still gripping the edge of his chair.

He stared at you, his pupils dilated, chest rising and falling with each breath. “I don’t know,” he said, voice rough. “But I want more.”
